If you’re lucky, like me I have Oak trees on my property, so I gather acorns as they drop off the trees in the autumn. I set them aside to dry, in a cool dry spot. As the weather becomes colder, I take a hammer and crush up the acorns. I toss them around the outside pen and in areas where the chickens free-range. They love to peck at them.
